Now, I realize swimsuit season is often met with dread, but I think it’s time we all get past that. First of all, because there are such things as swimsuit cover ups, and they’re trendy and chic now. Second of all, because of the fact that getting a tan is sooo over, you don’t ever have to take the cover up off. It’s not so much swimsuit season anymore as it is an opportunity to buy that loose, flowy, totally flattering and fun beach dress you’ve always wanted, and wear it as long as you please. Here’s a photo of my favorite cover up from Shopbop- not nearly as scary as a bikini, right?
Regardless of whether or not you have any interest in leaving your deck chair and discarding your gorge cover up to take a swim, the kids are sure to want to splash around in the water and build sandcastles. So, after you’re done splurging on that fab Furstenberg, you simply must stop by Sophias Style and shop little girl swimwear for her. The good news is, our baby girl’s swimsuits are all priced reasonably, so you won’t be suffering any buyer’s remorse over your new silk-chiffon beach dream-dress, and you’ll still feel like a good mommy for finding something adorable and well made for your mini-fashionista.
Enjoy spring ladies, and get ready to have a blast at the beach with your families!
It is -9 degrees outside in Omaha today, and needless to say I am less than thrilled. I realize it’s only February, and I realize that the ozone has more holes in it these days than jeans did in the 90’s, but I don’t care, I want a stable climate and I want it remain stable above zero, is that really so much to ask?
What I really want is a beach where I can sit under an umbrella, slathered in sunblock (my ancestors lived in Denmark and we don’t do tan), and spend the whole day reading a mix of snobby literature and French Vogue from behind an oversized pair of cat-eye sunnies.
What’s not helping me push this daydream aside and get back to work is the fact that my work involves seeing all the incredibly cute baby girl swimwear we’ve been getting at Sophias! If your family is lucky enough to be taking a vacation to somewhere tropical, you’ve simply got to browse through our girls swimsuits and help your little girl pick one (or two, or three) out, there are so many cute styles. She’d look darling in an animal print bikini with a skirted bottom and pink, ruffled trim. Or, for the sportier girls out there, we’ve got the coolest surf swim suits!
Even if you’re not headed anywhere that involves sand and palm trees anytime soon, you can pass at least a few frigid February minutes shopping our girls swimwear– that way you’ll be all set for when the weather finally does warm up!
Sophias Style has just started carrying some of the cutest new girl’s swimwear! We’ve got new styles by Gossip Girl, Hula Star, Kate Mack, and Happy Kids.
On top of the new swimsuits, we’re getting new girl’s spring dresses and girl’s sandals almost daily, and they’re all so pretty and flowy, I can’t wait for spring to get here. I’m ready for sunshine, open windows, and light, breezy clothing. We don’t have any real beaches here in Nebraska, so I never get too excited for that, but I do look forward to just being able to walk around outside without freezing or having to bundle up in 20 layers of wool.
What do you miss about spring and summer? What’s your favorite season for fashion? I’m a big fan of fall, but by the end of winter, I always love spring and can’t imagine ever wanting the weather to be cold again.
Enjoy shopping, and don’t forget to sign up for our Steal of the Day emails for daily discounts of up to 85% off!
I know it’s still December, and we haven’t even made it to Christmas yet, but I can’t help but get excited about spring and summer already! I love fall- the weather as well as the fashion, and I like winter because of the holidays and the fashion (I tolerate the weather only because I must), but as soon as New Years is over, I’m set for spring. I survive January only by curling up with books and ignoring the world until the weather starts to behave reasonably again.
So, you can imagine my excitement when our shipping manager emailed me that our girls swimwear is here. We have so many cute new suits, remember when choosing a swimsuit was only about finding a color or pattern you liked? I miss those days, kids have no idea how easy they’ve got it. Grown-ups have to worry about flattering cuts and styles, choosing patterns that accentuate the right things, etc.
Speaking of, here is a great article about how to find swimwear that flatters your figure. I definitely recommend giving it a read- if nothing else, it’ll be good motivation to keep hitting the gym this winter. Also, the Orchid Boutique has some really great women’s swimwear, so you can start choosing the perfect suit now! This might be especially helpful if you’re planning a tropical vacation this winter.
I’m always telling you to buy things early, get ahead, take advantage of off-season sales, etc. Well, our girls swimwear is on sale, because unless you’re lucky enough to live in a tropical climate, no one is doing any swimming right now. So I really recommend that you check out our baby girl swimsuits and little girl’s swimwear, while practically everything is on sale for less than $10.
To make myself look less crazy, I’ve come up with a list of things your kids can do with swimwear and beach accessories during the winter:
1. They can use beach towels as magic carpets and pretend to fly.
2. They can use their beach towels to make tents, and pretend to camp.
Ok, those were the only two I could come up with. I’m crazy. But our swimwear is so cheap right now! Take advantage, you’ll thank me next July!
It’s August, do you know what that means? It means lots of girls swimwear is on sale at Sophia’s Style! And the stuff that’s not on sale is still being sold for way better prices than anywhere else, so come get new suits while it’s still hot enough outside to swim.
I really like these kinda retro ones with the ruffles. The red is (in my opinion) clearly meant to be worn with absurdly large, white, Jackie O sunglasses. The other one looks so 60’s to me, it’s perfect for a barbeque at the lake where there’s a dock to jump off of.
We also have lots of great baby girl swimsuits, so your littlest ones have something to wear as well! Make sure you remember the sunblock, their delicate skin is easy to burn!
Here’s a great tip: If your child has sensitive skin, look for sunblocks that are made with physical blockers, which are listed in the ingredients as zinc oxide. Zinc oxide isn’t absorbed by the skin, it’s a natural ingrediant that actually sits on top the skin and physically reflects sun radiation off the face. Because it isn’t absorbed, it’s much more gentle and won’t cause irritation.
Have lots of fun in the sun while you still can! And don’t forget to check out our swimwear for girls at Sophia’s Style!
Well, we’re halfway into summer, and it’s officially peak pool season! Here in Nebraska the temperatures are hitting the ninties almost everyday, and kids are just begging their parents to take them swimming. At Sophia’s Style, we’ve got everything your girl will need to hit the waters. Our bright, beautiful collection of girls swimsuits and baby girls swimsuits includes something for everyone. We’ve got tankinis, bikinis, one pieces, and more, all in a variety of colors and patterns. No matter what her taste is, she won’t have trouble finding the perfect suit, towel, or cover-up in our collection of girls swimwear.
And guess what else! This time of summer, tons of our swimsuits have already gone on sale! We’ve got more markdowns than ever on the swimwear, so even if she already has one swimsuit, now might not be a bad time to pick out a back-up.
